What the app does with data
Last updated August 20, 2026
Microphone
During live practice, microphone audio is processed on the device to estimate pitch. The live pitch detector does not save or upload that audio. The separate Recorder saves an audio file locally only when you start a recording. A recording leaves the device only when you choose to share it.
Progress and settings
Lesson progress, practice time, preferences, and reminder settings are stored locally on the device. The current app does not require an account.
RevenueCat
Beta builds use RevenueCat’s testing environment for purchase-system data. The beta does not currently sell subscriptions or unlock paid content. RevenueCat may process an app user identifier and device, app, diagnostic, and purchase-related information. Microphone audio is never sent to RevenueCat. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Analytics and crash reports
The app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. Analytics collects anonymized usage events such as which tunes are practiced and how long sessions last. Crashlytics collects crash logs and diagnostic data to help fix bugs. This data is sent to Google. It does not include microphone audio or personally identifying information. See Firebase's privacy information.
Notifications
If you enable a practice reminder, iOS schedules it locally. The app does not use the reminder to build an advertising profile.
Contact
Questions or deletion requests can be sent to mike@mooneywhistle.com. Because the current app has no account or server-side profile, deleting the app removes its locally stored progress; recordings can also be deleted from the device.
